In February 2021, Cal Poly Humboldt submitted a Special Visit Report in response to the recommendations detailed in WSCUC’s 2018 reaffirmation of the university's accreditation.

This report was prepared in anticipation of a WSCUC special visit in April 2021. In their Commission Action Letter of July 2021, the Commission highlighted the university's empowered and diverse leadership; its commitment to improving equitable student outcomes through innovative programs like the College of Natural Resources & Sciences’ place-based learning communities; its transparency and communications regarding the university’s long-term goals; and the significant strides made toward building an operational university-wide system of assessment.
