Welcome to Cal Poly Humboldt’s accreditation website. Here you will find complete information related to the university’s accreditation by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).

In July 2018, WSCUC reaffirmed HSU’s accreditation for eight years (see the 2018 Commission action letter).  The Commission’s decision was informed by the report of the review teamwhich conducted the campus accreditation visit March 21-23, 2018, and by Humboldt's Institutional Report for Reaffirmation of Accreditation, submitted to WSCUC on June 30, 2017. A full description of the reaffirmation process, including links to relevant documents, can be found here.

In Spring 2021, WSCUC conducted a special visit to address progress on (a) budgeting, enrollment management, and diversification of revenue sources and (b) a comprehensive university-wide assessment program (see the 2021 HSU Special Visit Report).  In April, a review team visited the university virtually and provided a report to the Commission.  After its June 2021 meeting, WSCUC served final notification to Humboldt with seven commendations and four areas to which the university will need to continue to respond, which can be found in the 2021 Commission Action Letter.  Cal Poly Humboldt appreciates the guidance that the review team and the Commission have provided in support of the university’s continued development.
